Discipline.
This is something that is really hard to maintain. It is not everyday that we are always motivated to do what we do. In our work or school. Motivation wanes and some days we are really on a slump.
How do I cope?
Actually, I don’t have any sure shot ways to battle this phenomena. But let me share some tips if you are, just in any case, demotivated just like me.
1. Exercise
This is my go-to solution when I feel unmotivated. I usually go for a run about an hour. This usually clears my head on things and keeps my priorities in check. There are moments that I try Jui Jitsu just for the heck of it. Trying to see it is also one good outlet of stress.
2. Pressure
Probably this is the best motivation of all. You will definitely do something because something is on the line. Something will be lost when you dont do the thing that you are supposed to do. I believe to this up to this very day and I have accomplished a lot because of this way of mindset.
3. Go out and have some Me Time
There are moments that you are really not in the mood that all you need is a little enjoyment in life. Work is pretty much monotonous on itself especially if you are also rendering on weekends so I strongly suggest to have some breaks or “Me Time” to cope up. Maybe go to the beach or go to the mall with your S.O. and have a date. Watch a movie with the family or just do other stuff that will take away your focus to your work.
4. Responsibility
This is intense. I think this is also the partner of Pressure. If you got this two things in life, the higher the chance that you will be more productive and less of a lazy ass. This especially starts with a simple bill payment, or car payment every month. These things are your motivation on an everyday basis. Let these things be your “Why”.
5. Just Do It
Remember Nike? This has been their adage for so many generations now. “Just Do it”. Yes. That’s it. As simple as that. Just start doing whatever the hell you are supposed to do because no one will do it for you but yourself. And if you ever fail, you will not be blaming anyone but yourself. Always remember that life in your full control. You can definitely do something about it. Dreams do come true as long as you are not a lazy ass person. Always be disciplined and I promise you, you will be surprised in a year or two.
The thing with effort is that it is compounding. Do it everyday one step at a time. Then do it again tomorrow. All of a sudden you wont notice that you have been doing it for a week now, or a month and then years. Just be consistent about it and everything will be fine.
